Jysk History in Canada

Jysk is a household good and furnishing store first founded in Denmark in 1979, with the first Canadian location opened in 1996 in Coquitlam, British Columbia. Worldwide, Jysk operates more than 2,700 stores and has more than 23,000 employees.

The retail chain is known for their Scandinavian aesthetic, focusing on design elements such as minimalism, functionality, simplicity, and understated elegance. The Canadian operation is formally called Jysk Bed Bath Home, and has over 60 stores with plans to continue expanding. They have stores in Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Quebec.

Jysk sells a variety of home furnishing items. This includes outdoor accessories, furniture, mattresses, home decor, storage, bedding, and bath products. Customers can shop in store at any one of the over 60 locations across the country, or make purchases online at www.jysk.ca.

When shopping online, customers can either choose to reserve items and pick them up in store, or choose delivery. Many items have free delivery if over a certain price point, though terms are subject to item and location.  

Many of the furniture items require assembly, and the customer is completely liable for this process.
