Princess Auto is a retail chain in Canada that was founded in 1933 in Winnipeg, Manitoba as Princess Auto Wrecking. The company was purchased by Harvey Tallman in 1942. The business initially dismantled used cars to then sell the parts to automotive garages.
After World War Two, the company expanded into product production and the sale of army surplus supplies. In 1951, Princess Auto began distributing their mail order catalogue, which remains a part of their retail operation to this day.
